Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor and film director. He is known for his comedic and dramatic roles , and is considered to be an American popular culture icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was the son of Janet Marylyn, a hospital employee, as well as Amos Mefford Hanks (an itinerant chef). His mother, who was initially known as "Fraga" was part of born into a Portuguese family. His father was mainly English. Tom was raised in the context of a "fractured family". He was not an actor in college and attributes his inability get cast in a college production as the reason he started his career.
